Neurotoxins are an injectable neuromodulator that works to relax the muscles for a short period of time. Most “tox” lasts about 3 to 4 months, and takes about two weeks to kick in following your injection. Botox is a brand-name, other brands are Jeuveau, Dysport and Xeomin. Your provider will decide which one is most appropriate for you based on your treatment goals. The product is dosed by unit and priced by unit and all dose needs are different. The amount you will need will be discussed at your appointment based on your anatomy and exam. Prior to your appointment, it is important that you come with a clean face, refrain from working out before or after your treatment for about six hours, and plan to avoid any strenuous activity following your treatment.
